Foreign Language Training: Spanish

Spanish

Almost 420 million people speak Spanish as either their first or second language. It is the official language of 22 countries and one of the official languages of the UN and EU. Native speakers of Spanish call their language español, but when distinguishing it from other regional languages of Spain such as Catalan, Galician or Basque, they call it castellano.

As a Romance language, Spanish is closely related to Portuguese, French and Italian and is a relatively straightforward language to learn to speak, understand, read and write. The pronunciation can be challenging for native speakers of English. Spanish is greatly in demand and many of our clients learning Spanish are doing so because they are travelling regularly to Spain, have Spanish customers or are working within Spanish companies and need to improve their oral and written Spanish to enhance their efficiency at work.
